BÒRD NA GÀIDHLIG WELCOMES CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Bòrd na Gàidhlig, the Gaelic development agency, has welcomed confirmation that new career pathways and research opportunities will be created in Gaelic studies through the allocation by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) of £5.28 million for research into the support and revitalisation of the Gaelic language and culture.

BÒRD NA GÀIDHLIG SUBMITS ACTION PLAN ON LEARNING AND USING GAELIC
Bòrd na Gàidhlig, the principal public body promoting and developing Gaelic, has submitted an Action Plan to Scottish Ministers detailing its proposals for an acceleration in the number of people learning and using Gaelic and also more effective use of existing resources and structures.

HIE UNDERLINES COMMITMENT TO VALUE OF GAELIC
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) today announced further Gaelic investment ahead of the publication of research showing the significant economic benefits of the language and its culture. The new awards brings total current HIE investment through Gaelic to £990,000.

Bòrd na Gàidhlig, the principal public authority leading development in Gaelic and the Scottish Arts Council have launched a new literary Award to mark the contribution to the language of one of its great champions and scholars in recent years, Professor Donald Meek from Tiree.

NEW SCOTTISH ‘ENLIGHTENMENT’ BOOSTED BY £5.29 MILLION INVESTMENT
Funding of £5.29 million for research into the support and revitalisation of the Gaelic language and culture is to be shared among four Scottish higher education institutions in the latest research pooling initiative.
