Pre-school Education
Pàrant is Pàist (Parent and Child)
The children a wee bit older can start to meet and play with other children learning Gàidhlig. Parents come along and can learn more Gàidhlig over a cup of coffee.
Croileagan (Playgroups)
Children can attend Croileagan until they are ready to go to Sgoil Àraich. Croileagan (Playgroups) for children up to 3 years old and nursery for the 3-5 age bracket – and that’s just for a start!
Sgoil Àraich (Nurseries)
Most Sgoiltean Àraich are run by the Local Authorities and are usually attached or linked to a school offering Gaelic medium provision.
Pre-school, as well as meeting the needs of children educationally, is also a time for fun, entertainment and providing the first steps to shaping how your child sees the world whilst offering them the best environment possible. Gaelic Medium Education fulfils all these needs as well as going that extra mile and giving children the added bonus of learning a second language and help build solid foundations for them to lean even more languages!
The pre-school age is the perfect age to introduce children to any language. They learn quicker than the majority of adults and they get to do it in the best environment possible.
Children or parents do not need to have Gaelic to enrol.
Your child can benefit from learning a second language and in Scotland there is no better choice than Gaelic. Help them build a foundation in languages and give them a head start in learning more! Contact your local authority and see what they can offer your child.
